Ferrari Collection of Sergio Pininfarina goes on exhibit at Museo Ferrari

A one of a kind exhibition featuring the Greatest Ferraris of Sergio Pininfarina goes on exhibition at the Museo Ferrari in Maranello, Italy. This exhibition is in honor of the legendary designer and includes production models and even concept Ferrari vehicles. Pininfarina passed away last July.

The focus of the exhibition are on the models produced during the time when Sergion Pininfarina made great contributions to the design of the cars for the Prancing Horse brand. This collaboration started back in 1952 and has since then changed the automotive landscape.

Luca di Montezemolo, current chairman of Ferrari; Paolo Pininfarina, current topman of Pininfarina; and Enzo Ferrari’s son, Piero Ferrari were all present during the opening of the exhibit. The wife of Sergio Pininfarina and other family members also graced the occasion.

The exhibition at the Ferrari museum will run until the first week January next year. There are 22 vehicles including unique ones like the four-door Pinin concept and the 330 GTC Speciale that was once owned by the princess of Belgium.

Three halls in the museum will house the collection of Ferraris. One hall will be for race cars while the other two will be displaying production and concept vehicles. Aside from the cars, the Pininfarina family will also be showing the private and corporate collections including the Modulo concept styling buck.

Also on display are some of the race cars designed by Sergio Pininfarina for Ferrari. This includes the 250 LM that has won 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 375 MM racer, BB Le Mans, 250 MM Berlinettas, the 250 GT Berlinetta used by Stirling Moss, and the prototype Sigma Formula 1 made in 1969.

The road cars on exhbit vary from the front-engined units like the 275 GTB4 released in 1964, the mid-engined BB, and other concepts like the 599 SA Aperta and the Testarossa.

Ferrari fans should see the exhibit. If you are anywhere near Maranello, it is a must. Tickets cost $17.
