2010 Buick LacrosseThis just might be a sign that the General is back in the game, all thanks to its four top selling models. To name, they are the Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac. GM’s April sales shot up by 19.7%, while its annual sales are also up by an even more impressive 31%.

According to reports, the Detroit-based car manufacturer gave a lot of the credit to the recent release of the Buick’s Lacrosse, Chevrolet’s Equinox/Camaro, Cadillac’s SRX and the GMC’s Terrain. GM showed a report of their retail sales for the year, and it looks like the credit has been given to the four rightful champions.

However, minus these figures, General Motor’s overall performance isn’t so impressive anymore when you take into account the Saab, Pontiac, Hummer, and Saturn. These brands have either been sold or discontinued. The GM’s year-to-date sales went up only by 12.9%. To its defense, though, GM U.S. Sales Operations VP Steve Carlisle reverted the attention back to the company’s more successful brands.

Carlisle happily told the press that the newly launched brands were clearly designed to please consumers who were looking for bold styles without sacrificing the practical side of things, like safety, fuel efficiency, and of course, quality. With the sales success of the four brands, they’ve undeniably hit the mark.

Carlisle assured the public, though, that General Motors (GM) isn’t just focusing on the newly released lines. It will still continue the sales of mid-sized crossovers and full-sized pick-ups. To note, sales for the crossovers of the four brands doubled for April compared to last year.
